This is one of those “why didn’t I think of that?” kind of things. I’m pretty sure this will become a new little piece of pop culture.
Web designer Jona Bechtolt and freelance science writer Claire L. Evans, self proclaimed Apple fans, decided to create and market a laptop case for the new MacBook Air–based on the simple manila office envelope Steve Jobs pulled his new laptop out of on stage during the Apple Keynote.
The AirMail laptop sleeve is handmade out of durable upholstery-grade vinyl, and lined with fuzzy, soft fleece. All AirMail sleeves have the same dimensions as standard interoffice manila envelopes, which will serve to remind you — and everyone around you — that your new MacBook Air really is the thinnest laptop in the world!
You can pre order one from www.manilamac.com for $29.95 . They will be shipped in two weeks, about the time the new MacBook Air arrives in stores.

I think the idea is tacky. Your laptop is an expensive tool, not a fashion statement, although I bet Jobs would beg to differ. I’m the real geeky type and prefer function over form.
